France Afloat

France Afloat, the French Canal specialists, offer quality boating holidays on Frances most beautiful waterways. We are unique in being both an English family business and having lived and worked on the French inland waterways for over 20 years. France Afloat is owned and operated by Mike and Lesley Gardner-Roberts and Zoë and Steve Adams and their intimate knowledge and personal experience allow us to create the perfect boating holidays.

We offer a range of luxury boats and barges for 2 to 10 guests. The Linssen range of steel motor yachts offer luxurious cruising. They are an ideal blend of traditional styling and modern equipment. All the Linssens are recent boats and their comfortable interiors are complemented by good exterior space. The EuroClassic range are barge style boats and offer spacious accommodation. All the cabins have their own shower and toilet, and there is spacious living accommodation. The large aft decks provide a focal point for the guests with table and chairs and a second exterior helm position. Our other ranges offer boats to suit all budgets and tastes.

Our principle cruising areas of the Canal du Midi and Burgundy, are the most attractive and famous regions for canals in France. The UNESCO recognized Canal du Midi needs no introduction and with Carcassonne close to our base of Capestang, we can offer fabulous cruises through vineyards, ancient towns and villages under the Mediterranean sun. In Burgundy we operate both on the Canal du Nivernais, the Yonne and on the Burgundy canal. This region offers some of the most beautiful canals in France and coupled with Burgundy’s fine wines and gastronomic treats make this a region not to be missed.
